The Road to Hana...

Today was an amazing time. I spent the day with my Dad, his wife Rachel in and around Hana. The road to Hana is one of my favorite places on Earth. When I go I never want to leave. I wish I had more pictures but on the road my batteries died and I was not able to replace them until we were almost done with the trip. Boo! But my Dad took lots of pics and said he would e-mail them to me. It was a great trip.

Family

My dad has been talking about coming out here for over a year now and he finally gets here on saturday. We both are very excited. We have not seen each other (although we talk every week) in 7 years. We last saw each other at my high school graduation in 2001.
My shoulder is still painful, albeit less so since I have been doing physical therapy. I was supposed to return to work on June 2nd but that has been pushed back two weeks to June 16th in order to give my shoulder as much time as possible to heal. Right now I am worried that even with that extra time it still won't be enough. My shoulder is pretty messed up. Both my doctor and my physical therapist are a bit mystified by my shoulder problems. We shall see.....

Live Music is the Best!

Saturday night I was reminded of how amazing live music is.
I went out Saturday night for the first time in months. I had previously introduced my friend Amanda to the music of Erin Smith (another friend of mine) so Saturday night we went to see Erin play live at Ambrosia. It was great. Erin was fantastic as always, she was fighting an ear infection but sounded just as good as every other time I have seen her live.
A resolution: go see more live music!

Beauty...

A friend of mine showed me this flower, probably the most beautiful Hibiscus I have ever seen. It may be hard to see in the picture but in person it looks like it has been tie-dyed.

Cooking...

Now that I am no longer cooking for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, the desire to cook at home as come over me. Nothing fancy, just simple, tasty food.
I've also been trying to eat healthier. lots of leafy greens and veggies. For someone who is used to eating Ramen noodles and processed foods this is not always an easy task. But so far so good.
One day I made a bolognese pasta with lots of garlic and hot italian pasta.
Another day I made pork chops with balsamic, rosemary and thyme roasted potatoes, kula sweet corn and a salad with lots of veggies for appetizer.
I've also broiled a ribeye steak, marinaded in Worcestershire and garlic. I've also made BBQ Chicken.
Today I baked a German Chocolate cake for someones birthday.
One of my upcoming projects is buffalo wings.
