I woke up this morning in a bit of a funk. Today is the 2 year anniversary of my boyfriends death but it ended up being a good day.
Thanks to my roommate I was able to go out on a Pacific Whale Foundation boat today with a friend. It was only an hour long, so I really didn't expect to see anything, I figured it would just be a nice boat ride.
Boy was I wrong. Within 10 minutes we had seen bottle-nosed dolphins fairly close to the boat. After we got further out we encountered a momma humpback whale and her calf. A male humpback ended up showing up as well.
On the way back in to the harbor we saw 2 turtles pop their heads up for air.
It was amazing. It reminded me why I live on Maui.
